This project supported by the Turkish National Agency aims to provide solutions to the social problems faced by young people and contribute to social transformation through sport activities that can raise awareness among young people about serious problems such as drug and technology addiction, gender inequality and xenophobia. According to data from the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), one in three young people has tried an illicit substance at least once in their lives, and the vast majority spend a significant portion of their day in front of digital screens.

Korfball, one of the few team sports with gender equality, is at the heart of the project. Played by equal numbers of men and women, this sport encourages their equal physical activity. Tournaments, workshops, and cultural interaction programs throughout the project will strengthen solidarity, collaboration, and inclusiveness among young people. A leading organisation - EKİP Association from Kirikkale, Türkiye is already bringing the positive impact of korfball on young people in their local community and during this project this impact will rise to other countries involved.

However, activities throughout the project will not be limited to sports; they will also be supported by art, music, and intercultural learning. Furthermore, young people will have workshops on topics mentioned above. Beyond simply being a series of events, the "Reconnect with Korfball" project aims to empower participating young people to become agents of social change by sharing their knowledge and experience within their communities.
