Training Camp - ELEVATE, Willemstad, Curaçao

From 12th to 19th of October 2025 the city of Willemstad, a capital of a small Caribbean island country Curaçao was a place of training camp of ELEVATE project, which is an acronym of Empowering Leaders through Entrepreneurship Ventures and Training for Education.

Throughout the week, 20 participants from Curaçao, Germany, North Macedonia, Türkiye and Cyprus and also our member Krunoslav Vukelić who was invited by Citizen Association United Youth from Kočani, North Macedonia as a facilitator and contributor took part in a series of non-formal learning activities. interactive workshops, and creative sessions that aimed to develop practical skills in entrepreneurship education, youth coaching and leadership development. Beside this, all activities were prepared for an open dialogue, cultural exchanges, and collaborative and we can say that atmosphere between us during this week was really inspiring and we were living like a small NGO commune. One day we were invited by University of Curaçao where we had a fruitful conversation with their students who were very curious for all possibilities that Erasmus+ and other EU programs can provide. The same day we visited Kura Hulanda Museum, which is placed right at the place where Dutch entrepreneurs once traded and transshipped enslaved Africans along with other 'commercial goods'. This museum impressively exhibits the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in its totality, from slave capture in Africa through the Middle Passage and the relocation in the New World. The museum Kura Hulanda also demonstrates that the African and diverse cultural heritage has influenced Curaçaoan and Caribbean societies until today.

Main coordinator Migrafrica gGmbH from Koln, Germany prepared a really nice program and facilitated this training camp in the most professional way.
And what was really the unbelieveable? Among seven Curacao participants two of them were in Croatia and it was their only Erasmus+ experience yet!!!
